My goal is to help you and your organization discover your purpose by helping you find the spark and kindling to create the fire that will drive you in your personal and professional lives. After we collect what you need and figure out what your needs are together, we will use the 3 components of Fire- Oxygen, Heat and Fuel to move toward your goal so that you can flourish and make the personal, instructional, institutional and community impact that you were designed to accomplish. So whether you are a helping professional, faculty, a student looking to find your purpose, an administrator who needs to find new ways to inspire, and motivate your staff, students and faculty. A leader looking to expand or grow your impact, resources and influence. Or a leader who desires a faith forward speaker to encourage, enlighten, train and motivate faculty, students and other especially in a Faith Forward mental health program please reach out to me.
Together we will gather what you need to spark and build your fire, breathe oxygen into your individual and corporate plans, purpose and calling. This newly formed or rediscovered fire will serve others as it brings warmth to you, your family and the community. We will use the fuel from the fire to energize you and help you to go beyond existing and doing to flourishing, thriving and impacting.

As a therapist, I have been facilitating growth and reconciliation and redemption for couples in distress for many years. Additionally, I have been coaching and mentoring students, individuals and groups in the area of purpose, calling and finding a purposeful career, life and work. I am also a clinical and scholarly expert in the area of both chemical and sex addictions, marriage counseling, multicultural counseling and competency, mental health advocacy and leadership. I have helped many individuals and families break the chains of abuse, dependence and marital discord. Furthermore, I have authored books on addictions, career and calling as well as how to write a dissertation.
Finally, I am a champion for advocating for the mental health profession. I served as the President of the Virginia Counseling Association. Currently, I am a full Professor of Counseling at a Faith-Based higher Educational Institution. Additionally, I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor, entrepreneur, scholar and author. I received a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision and a Specialist in Higher Education Administration from the University of Florida. Additionally, I am the founder and CEO of two mental health private practices one secular and one faith based.
Within circles, both students and colleagues find me relatable and resourceful. My consistent availability, inexhaustible optimism and honest feedback make me a well versed, equipped and experienced leader for professionals at all levels. I am also a top choice for couples in distress and individuals suffering from chemical and sexual addictions and most importantly I am a skillful leader, mentor, teacher, administrator, counselor, mentor and motivator.

I am well versed in mental health counseling, advocacy, and leadership in mental health counseling. Leading and guiding mental health counseling programs and higher education administration in general is my specialty. I have over 20 years of experience working with clients on topics such as chemical and sexual addictions, marital counseling and many other mental health issues. I have written books that focus on Christian faith and purpose and calling and addictions. Additionally, I am an experienced and licensed mental health counselor and a trained and experienced clinical supervisor. I train and speak on subjects that include, multicultural competency. Advocacy, faith integration in education, first generation college students and leadership in higher education and mental health counseling departments and agencies.
Additively, I can provide individual, groups, department and schools with leadership training, faith integration strategies, help individuals discover why they were born and departments and faculty how to get the best out of their students and programs.
I use fire as an example and illustration to describe your passion for teaching, leading and striving because fire is made up of light, oxygen, heat and fuel. If you are a professor in the helping profession or if you are a leader in a faith-based institution, I have real specific experiences and practical ways to engage and integrate faith and spirituality into your scholarship, teaching, mentoring and leading.

I can speak about advocacy and the direction and future of the helping profession. I have served as president of the Virginia Counseling Association, Director of the Counselor Education and Supervision Program and interim Director of the Counseling Program. I also served as the faculty leader of the award-winning student honorary organization Chapter of Chi Sigma IOTA at Regent University. Other leadership positions include positions in student services in higher education. I have worked at 2 large land grant universities, a private faith based Christian university and a community college. Thus, there is no higher education institution that I am not experienced and have the authority to help train and grow the program.
Regarding academia and scholarship. I am a full professor and have authored many articles as well as three text books. I can speak on mental health counseling in general, and specifically addictions, career and calling and writing a dissertation, multicultural and faith integration. Finally I can add value to your faculty and clinicians regarding the topics of leadership in academia, starting a for profit and nonprofit mental health organization as well as discuss multicultural and mental health advocacy issues.
