Meet Our Staff

Dr. Cyrus R. Williams III

Dr. Cyrus R. Williams III has a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision and an Education Specialist Degree in Higher Education Leadership. He is a licensed mental health counselor. Currently, he is a faculty member in the Psychology and Counseling School at Regent University. He has a passion for working with young adults, adults, and couples with a wide range of marital, behavioral and adjustment issues including, relationship conflict, depression, anxiety, addictions, interpersonal issues, spiritual or relational issues, and career issues. Finally, and most importantly, he has been a member of New Life Church for years, he is committed to his faith, devoted to his wife, and is blessed with two children.

Saranette D. Miles Williams

Saranette D. Miles Williams understands that career change can be overwhelming and she strives to assist clients with the job search process, education selection process, choosing a major, career exploration, transitioning and more. With over 10+ years experience, Saranette has been coaching adult learners, high school seniors, college students, military members and career changers domestically and internationally. She has worked at Virginia Tech (VT), University of Florida (UF), Regent University (RU), and Old Dominion University (ODU), and volunteered in the community assisting with job searching activities as well as helping clients regarding their "career passions and callings!" Currently, she serves as Associate Director of Old Dominion University and holds leadership roles in various national professional organizations.

Dr. Patricia King

Dr. Patricia King is the Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL). She is a registered nurse and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the College of New Jersey. She returned to school twice to receive a Master's in Counseling and a Doctorate in Counselor Education from Regent University. Dr. King has worked at the College since 1994, serving in many capacities along the way. Her current role in CETL provides a wonderful opportunity to assist new faculty in the transition to the world of academia in Sentara College's distance learning programs.

Jordan Martin

Jordan is a Qualified Mental Health Professional – Trainee pursuing a Master of

Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. She has spent the last four years facilitating groups to support mothers of medically fragile children across the nation. She is also the author of “To The Mom Who Didn’t Get What She Was Expecting,” a book written to remind NICU mothers they are not alone on their journey through medical motherhood.

Michael Scott

Michael Scott is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) since 2011 and holds a master’s degree in mental health counseling from Old Dominion University. He is currently employed as a manager of clinical services for a program that provides counseling to military service members and their families. Michael has experience working with all ages of children, adults and families through a wide range of life’s challenges and has a particular sensitivity to some of the unique challenges service members and their families experience. Michael is a husband and father of 3 and as a family they are active volunteers with a ministry that sees international orphans hosted and adopted into Christian families.

Katrina Askew

Katrina Askew has a Master’s Degree in Marriage, Family, and Couples Counseling from Regent University, with a Certificate in Clinical Mental Health. She worked in an advocacy role for six years at her local Crisis Pregnancy Center, serving a diverse group of women and families from all socioeconomic backgrounds, ethnicities, and faith, including at-risk youth. Katrina is experienced in working with individuals with depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and PTSD. She offers a person-centered, non-judgmental approach to therapy and believes in enhancing personal strengths through encouragement and empowering perspectives. She believes in the healing power of relationships and values increasing connections and supporting families. Katrina is a Christian, a devoted wife and mother of three.

Takera A. Etheridge

Takera attained her M.A. in Human Services Counseling from Liberty University and her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regent University. She is passionate about creating a positive impact in the lives of others as well as the community. She believes in advocating for those whom are less fortunate. As a resident in counseling she utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as well as solution focus brief therapy. She provides a wide range of psychotherapy services which in include but are not limited to: adjustment disorders, anxiety, attachment disorder, depression, family, grief/loss, mood disorders, relationship issues, self-esteem, social skills, spiritual issues, suicide ideations, and trauma.

Samantha Koenig

Samantha Koenig has a Bachelor of Science in Education degree with a Minor in Special Education from Old Dominion University, and a Master of Arts in Counseling Degree with a Concentration in Marriage, Couples, and Family from Regent University.

She is currently a Resident in Counseling and holds the National Certified Counselor (NCC) credentials.
